Pixel Plunge

READ THE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLAYING! - This is my submission for the Brackeys 2020 Game Jam!

Objective

Your boss has ordered you to dig your way to the core of the planet to make a lot of $$$!  On your way mine as many ores as possible to rack up a lot of points.  The more points the better you ending rank will be!  How fast you do it also  affects your rank.

Be careful of long drops!  If you fall too far at once you'll take damage! If you take too much damage you'll die!

Tutorial

Click and Hold to mine and break blocks. The player starts off with a wooden pickaxe.

Press E to open your inventory.  The right side panel is your inventory, the left side panel is the crafting menu.

To craft something simply click on one of the recipes and then click craft.  You can use the scrollbar to look at other recipes not currently visible.

To equip a new tool, simply click on it from the inventory.

Generations:

The game will randomly generate a number of ores.  These ores have their properties randomized.  Whether they're good or bad is up to rng!

Estimated Runtime: 10-20 minutes before completing.  May take a lil while to start up a run.

Post Mortem:

Yeah, a lot of features I planned to have in this game got cut due to time constraints.  I was hoping to have a lot of unique structure generations and more interesting things with the randomly generated ores.  However, there simply isn't enough time to playtest all of that.  World Generation actually took more work than I expected to get working properly.  But, it was something I've never done before so it was very fun!

I had also planned for there to be a shop, spikes, lava, and more hazards besides just falling to your doom..  But I must say, I do die to fall damage a lot while I was playing this.  Be careful!
