v1.0.1 - A small little patch to fix up some common issues with the demo :)

  • Fixed issues with The Big One 
  • Removed stray bridge tile
  • Big menus (Wayfinder, Inventory, etc) auto close each other when they open, you can't have multiple opened at once anymore
  • Rewrote parts of the control disabling system, I think some conflicts with the old system was causing the whole unable to move thing 
  • Greatly improved visibility of the Hollow Underzone projectiles
  • Darkened Underzone city tiles a bit, the place honestly looks cooler this way too lol
  • Darkened Underzone night sky stars a bit
  • Can no longer open other menus while in a dialogue/cutscene
  • Reduced particle counts on some objects
  • Wayfinder auto closes when teleporting to an angel pad
  • Mouse/Gamepad input now counts as any input for "Press Any Key to continue"
  • Prev/Next weapon default keybinds are no longer set to Tab
  • Having your inventory open will no longer disable your movement, this should just feel nicer
  • Fixed Iron Shackles description
  • Can no longer spam interact Spaera and other npcs mid dialogue
  • Added a fade to black transition while teleporting and prevented movement while doing so, teleport animation is also 2x faster
  • Fixed "Abilitys" typo on the inventory
  • Fixed the fact that beating the boss in Underzone did not save, this meant you could keep exiting and re-entering to keep refighting
  • Improved several hitboxes
  • Fixed Myrael always doing the cutscene when you get a no-hit, she has shortened dialogues on repeat no-hits
  • Fixed missing Spaera Dialogue
  • Fixed Myrael not saving, allowing you to infinitely get mark stones from her just by exiting and entering again
  • Potential fix for black screen bug, I think it was something to do with how chunks were being loaded, I made a small edit to that. But I think the scene literally just killed itself somehow
  • Reworked Cracked Crystal:
    • It now teleports you to a random special room that you have not visited,
    • If you've visited every special room it teleports you somewhere random that you have not visited,
    • If you've visited the entire map, it just puts you in a random location, it places you in the doors btw, so the room won't automatically start
  • Nyx's projectiles die after defeating him, which should prevent cutscene deaths
  • Duplium now ignores abilities
  • Added signs in the tutorial section so if you skip past you can still see 
  • Rewrote the danger detection system, so it won't bug out when suddenly swapping scenes or cancelling or whatever, there were likely quite a few bugs related to this
  • Resprited Underzone boss health bar slightly
  • Added a cool little flash effect to the edge of the bar when you damage the boss
  • Added a dark red background to the health bar, so it's no longer transparent
  • Added a setting for automatically hiding the minimap while in combat
  • Fixed all Skye squishing bugs (I literally just had the scaling code in the wrong function lol)
  • Made a new sound effect for picking up shielded hearts
  • Added a new hit and death sound for Shade Witches
  • Shade Witches spike hands are no longer locked to left/right, and can aim directly towards the player, their movement shall remain the same
  • Shade Witches now have a little line telegraph for when they're about to do their attack, also improved the spawning of the spike hands
  • Enemy spawns are now staggered, have a sound effect, and a slightly different animation
  • Fixed getting softlocked in a black screen, this was just a simple division by zero error in the knockback function lol, so your player just stopped existing, and the camera didn't know what to do
  • Shadow Kins also have the line telegraph now, greatly improved visibility on their projectiles, reduced hitbox size
  • Adjusted a few abyss rooms
  • Made 5 new angel rooms in Underzone
  • Reduced hitbox size of the Abyss spiders
  • Post Processing now draws after the lighting layer instead of before, this was why the Abyss looked a bit funky sometimes because it uses a distortion shader. This change alone helps a lot lol
  • Nerfed Nyx's special attack very slightly
  • Nerfed Devourers, they attack slower and have a much more visible telegraph when sucking in bullets
  • Added Minimap Icons for Hearts, Keys, Chests and Spaera
  • Reduced Sun Amulet's Skill Point Cost from 2 to 1 and reduced the damage by 25%
  • Anvil now clearly shows what is being rerolled
  • Items that are synergizing with your current build will glow blue in your inventory
  • Added a synergy for Vapor Slicer + Fire Power, Fire Power is granted by Eternal Flame/Sun Amulet.
  • Added a synergy for x2 stacks of Fire Power

the game is incredibly cool. this is one of the best roguelikes I've seen

The graphical style here is very cool and unique for this type of game! There's certainly more work to be done in improving visibility, feedback, and pacing, and there's some menu bugs that you might already be aware of. Also, the camera follow was too snappy or erratic for my taste, and I wasn't able to use my held item after a point? I think? maybe I was doing something wrong. I didn't get that far in the demo but still, I think the game has potential!
